Pair of Regency Giltwood Wall Sconces, ca 1820
Regency Cut Glass Comports and Salts with Provenance
A pair of Regency comports or bowls together with a set of four salts. The bowls (Circa 1820) are very substantial, thick and heavy with stylised foliate and geometric patterns on lozenge shaped feet.
They measure 21cm wide X 12cm depth X 16cm tall.
The salts which we believe are slightly later (circa1880) measure 8cm wide X 5cm depth X 7cm tall.
All the pieces are in exceptional condition for their age with no chips or cracks and with a very interesting provenance.
PROVENANCE: These pieces were originally sold at Christies, London on 26-27 January 2006, Lot 444. They were included with items from the estate of His Royal Highness, The Prince Henry Duke of Gloucester, KG, KT, KP. (1900-1974) He was the son of George V and Queen Mary.
