French Serpentine Carriage Clock by Duverdrey & Bloquel.

An attractive 8 day French carriage clock with a gilded brass serpentine case with elaborately decorated friezes.

The bevelled glass panels at the front and sides as well as the rear door are all in good condition with no chips or cracks. Key present.

The clock has been cleaned and lightly lubricated and keeps good time. Circa 1900.

The clock height is 16.5 with the handle extended or 13.5 with the handle down.

The lion mark on at the rear panel is the trademark for the French clockmaking firm Duverdrey & Bloquel. Based in Saint-Nicolas-d’Aliermont, this manufacturer was highly active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, commonly producing brass carriage clocks
