Italian Carved and Gilded Table Lamps

A pair of mid 19th Century Italian and possibly Venetian candlesticks which have been later converted it to table lamps.
They are highly decorative with three mermaids with webbed feet sitting on the backs of dolphins.
They are constructed from carved wood and gesso which has all been gilded.
We believe these candlesticks were converted to lights around 1930-40 and the wiring and fittings have been lated modernised. They have been checked safety.
