C&R Comyns Tortoise Shell and Silver Mounted Stationery Box. 1896

A superb tortoiseshell and silver mounted domed topped stationery box by C & R Comyns, with hallmarks for London 1896. The silver mounts are intricately worked with foliage and scrollwork.
The original interior has compartments for papers, envelopes, stamps and a pen tray and is fitted with red leather and red silk.
The overall condition is very good for its age with only a small ink stain inside the box.
