Pair of German Oil Paintings on Panel

A pair of oils on panels depicting a young man and a young woman in each.
These pictures came from a family who inherited them from their father who had fought in WW2 and brought them back from Germany where he had been prisoner of war.
Each painting has a small brass plaque with inscriptions” Der Beste Fang” and the other “Die Schönste Stunde” (The Best Catch and The Finest Hour).
They are in good condition, framed in oak, with just slight gaps where the frames are joined.
The paintings without frame each measure 19cm X 10.5cm.
