Oil on Panel Countryside Scene – in the Manner of John Constable

An early 19th Century landscape depicting a countryside scene with a village and church In the background and a woman carrying wood on her shoulders in the foreground.

The painting was found here in Constable country in the Suffolk countryside. Inscribed verso with the words “John Constable RA. Suffolk Landscape”.

It’s a good little painting and in the original gilt wood frame. The actual painting measures 16cm X 20cm.
