A charming oil on canvas by Albert-Ernest Brockbank (1862-1958)
The painting depicts two children playing with a pond yacht in a water barrel.
In good condition commensurate with age, there are no paint losses or damage to the canvas. The original gilded frame has no losses but there are some scratches which we have not attempted to restore.
The painting is signed with a monogram AEB and dated 1884.
An appealing early painting by the artist.
Framed the picture measures 24cm X 32cm.  The Canvas measures 16cm x 24cm

Albert Ernest Brockbank was born and lived in Liverpool, studying at the Liverpool School of Art, in London and at Académie Julian in Paris. He was President of both the Liverpool Academy and Liverpool Sketching Club and showed extensively at Walker Art Gallery which holds his work, as does Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Preston. Also showed at RCamA, RBA, RA and RI.    Certificate of Authenticity.
