A very good pair of George III silver candlesticks by John and Thomas Settle with hallmarks for Sheffield 1816. They have removable gadrooned sconces on knopped and tapering sticks with loaded bases. These are in very good condition and stand beautifully on their own.
However, interestingly, they come with perfectly matching three light silver plated candelabra which fit onto the candlesticks. These appear to be of the same period and match perfectly with the candlesticks. Perhaps an afterthought by the manufacturer or the buyer….we’ll never know. They are in good condition with no plate loss .
The candlesticks alone are 30cm high but, with the candelabra fitted, they measure 49cm high and 42cm wide.
