French Louis XV style Cylinder Escritoire, ca 1900

A beautifully made French mahogany cylinder desk with ormolu mounted decoration.

The cylinder lid is painted with a scene depicting a young woman with courtiers. The ormolu galleried top is inset with rouge marble.

The writing surface, which is covered in a velvet/felt cloth (which has a small ink stain), slides forward, delivering enough work space for a PC.

All in very good condition, well made and substantial, culminating on reeded legs.
