After Rembrandt, A Pair of early 18th Century Oil Portraits

After Rembrandt, two early 18th Century portrait oils on panel, each inscribed verso.

Housed in the original gilt wood frames, these portraits have an air of great antiquity and atmosphere.

They are in good original condition with no paint loss. Although the frames are made identically, there is a difference of about one centimetre in size. The actual paintings measure approx 20cm X 16.5cm

Brought out of Germany in 1938 by the previous owner’s late parents, thence by family descent.
