A beautifully ornate and colourful pot with lid, decorated with relief mounted flowers and the pot configured to resemble a bird with a bird mounted on the lid. \u00a0This unique item was designed and created by the Zulu artist Miriam at the Ardmore factory in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa<\/p>\n
The story of Ardmore began 40 years ago, in 1985. \u00a0 F\u00e9e Halstead started on a journey teaching ceramics to a talented group of rural people on a farm in the remote corner of Kwazulu-Natal.<\/p>\n
Ardmore is derived from the name of the first farm F\u00e9e lived on in the entrancing Champagne Valley in Kwazulu-Natal.<\/p>\n
Today the studio is home to over 70 African artists whose ceramic works are recognised as modern-day collectables by auction houses Christies, Bonhams and Sotheby’s<\/p>\n
Ardmore works in collaboration with the French fashion house,\u00a0Herm\u00e8s, and Cole & Son of the UK.<\/p>\n
