It is in a later frame which is beautifully carved and enhanced with a small amount of gilding,  enhancing the portrait well. <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the painting was once framed under glass (often the case with paintings on copper) as the condition is very good. <\/p>\n<p>It is a lovely piece with much atmosphere.
