Clive Madgwick was a British painter best known for realistic English pastoral scenes that depicted trout fisherman, farmers at work in the field, and sleepy harbour towns.<\/p>\n
Born in 1934 in Surrey, he studied dental medicine at Guy\u2019s Hospital and pursued painting as a hobby until middle age when he made it his sole occupation.<\/p>\n
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Madgwick travelled to Italy where he painted Venetian and Florentine landscapes and architecture.<\/p>\n
He was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and frequently exhibited in his native Britain until his death in 2005 in Suffolk, United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
