It bears the inscription &#8220;A present to Mr J Perkins 1909.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This rustic brown lead-glazed style, with applied decoration is known as &#8216;Measham Ware&#8217; or the more general &#8216;Barge ware&#8217;, as it is associated with use on canal boats.
