Clive Madgwick was a British painter best known for realistic English pastoral scenes that depicted trout fisherman, farmers at work in the field, and sleepy harbor towns.
\nBorn in 1934 in Surrey, United Kingdom, he studied dental medicine at Guy\u2019s Hospital and pursued painting as a hobby until middle age when he made it his sole occupation.
\nIn the late 1990s and early 2000s, Madgwick traveled to Italy where he painted Venetian and Florentine landscapes and architecture.
\nHe was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and frequently exhibited in his native Britain until his death in 2005 in Suffolk, United Kingdom.
