About this piece

A good Parian figure group "The distressed Mother" dated 1848.
Reduced from the sculpture by Sir Richard Westmacotts (1775-1856) By Jan Peppercorn for Minton .
In very good condition and highly detailed, the woman portrayed doesn't look at all distressed but in fact quite serene.
