“The Village Bride” Oil on Canvas, in the manner of Jean-Baptiste Greuze (1725-1893)

A very charming 18th Century oil on canvas depicting “The Village Bride”.
It is an early extract from the larger painting by Greuze which depicts the groom asking the father of the bride for his daughter’s hand in marriage and which hangs in The Louvre.
The painting is in good condition with no losses and the previously relined artwork has been delicately cleaned.
It is housed in a gilded wooden frame which is also in good condition and measures 33cm X 30cm.
Circa 1780-1800.
