Pair of Regency Giltwood Wall Sconces, ca 1820

Swiss Singing Bird in Cage with Head, Beak and Tail movement.

This Swiss made Singing Bird in Cage was manufactured by Reuge after its acquisition of the French Bontems automaton manufacturer after the second World War.
This acquisition brought the famous Paris singing-bird tradition into Switzerland, and Reuge continued developing and manufacturing singing birds at Sainte-Croix.
This automaton dates from around 1945 – 1950. It is in very good condition, working well and sings beautifully whilst its head, beak and tail moves.
Circa 1945 – 1950

We can provide a short video of the bird in action.
